Anyone passing by Ghanima's office might hear a rhythmic clicking, the dulled 'thud' of chess pieces moving at rapid speeds as she played against the various tau awarenesses in her mind.

She was in her office today, rather than Friday, because she had a vague sense that her mun is on an airplane that day that it would be best to get her lesson written-up sooner rather than later.

Of course, today was still 'sooner', whenever she got around to it. She just needed to beat the Other Memory of Mohiam a few more times, just for fun.

[Open door, open office, and SP is the name of the game. Viva la OCD-Free Revolution!]

It was almost a relief to be in her office, away from the boring confines of her suite. As... entertaining... as the events of the previous weekend were, Ghanima had absolutely no desire to make Elaine or Noree part of her future any time soon.

And Alexander? Really? Whatever reality that was could stay a future imperfect and never come to pass.

It was almost soothing to settle in one of the overstuffed chairs of her office, working away on the summer syllabus as she chewed the tip of her quill absently. Academics were far more interesting than strange little children, after all.

Since she'd be chaperoning the Prom tomorrow, Ghanima decided today was as good a day as any to hold her office hours. She wasn't exactly expecting anyone, but she still had class notes to write, and knives to sharpen.

All of her weapons had been fine, once the voodoo curse had worn off, but Ghanima liked triple-checking them anyway.

Either way, she was there, sipping her coffee and working away on the syllabus for the summer.

[Open! SP warning, as the Crazyflakes boss is about.]

The endless winter of the Americas was starting to grate on Ghanima. Constantly cloudy, constantly chilly... if the island did not relocate somewhere more interesting for the summer, she was going to be vastly annoyed.

Still, there were notes to review, and a class for the summer to write. At least all the paperwork would give her something not bloody cold to focus on.

Ghani didn't work with her school issued laptop often, preferring books, pen, and paper to the electronic click of the keyboard. Checking her email once a week was one of her few concessions to the digital age in which she currently lived.

Even if she did distrust the Maker-cursed Machines with a passion.

The email she received today, however, warranted an immediate response.

It was not, perhaps, the most diplomatic response Ghanima could have composed, but for some reason she was having difficulty reigning in her temper this week. )

That accomplished, Ghanima settled in to draw up lesson plans for after-break, occasionally glancing over at her email to see if she had a response.

[Open office is open and fleeing from OCD!]

Before going to bed last night, Ghanima had politely informed her hat that it was more than welcome to stay for a bit, and get to know the rest of her haberdashery collection.

Since the hat was still there in the morning, she took that as assent.

Which was why she was working away in her office, the hat perched atop one of her bookcases for decoration.

Some days, Ghanima loved this island.

[Open & OCD Free! I babysit undergrads teach from 12 - 3ish CST today, but should otherwise be around, if slow-ish.]

As much as Ghanima would rather be elsewhere; training, shopping, taking critical pen to treaty or what-have-you, she was in her office, working away on one of her projects.

A Ghanima with a Plan was perhaps a very frightening Ghanima indeed.

[OOC: OMGLATE, and SP is ze rule. It is "Flood Ahddie with Projects" Day, long periods of AFK until after 11CST.]

Power, no power, it really hadn't bothered Ghanima. As a Bene Gesserit, she was capable of controlling her body and mind - it was simple enough to regulate her body temperature to compensate for the lack of heat. Doing it too often might lead down the path to Abomination, but Ghanima was rather sure that it was acceptable in this situation. Freezing to death would not benefit anyone, after all.

Despite the fact the power had been restored, however, she still had not turned on the overhead lights to her office. She preferred the illumination of candles and glowglobes anyway, and it made it feel a bit more like home as she worked on the letter she needed to send. Certain people needed to be kept appraised of things at the school, and Ghanima had a favor to ask...
