atreideslioness: (Future Imperfect)
There was something waiting. Ghanima could feel it, hovering at the edges of her prescience like the air before a coriolis storm. Just beyond the dunes, if she cared to look.

Except that would take all the fun out of it. Infinite surprises, as she and Leto craved, and Ghanima resisted the urge to pick up her Dune Tarot. Instead she channeled that restless energy into dusting off her old syllabus and preparing to get back into an academic classroom. Working with Wade was interesting, but had left her with a craving for something a bit more intellectual.

[OOC: for one, please!]

atreideslioness: (Ghani is smirking at you!)
Ghanima was in her office, contemplating ideas for teaching next semester as a break from working on this semester's notes.

If by 'contemplating' you meant pinning the options to the dartboard and throwing knives at them. It was, by far, the most entertaining method of choosing a class Ghanima had come up with yet.

If asked, she'd claim it was a bad habit picked up from Aly, and she'd only be mostly-lying.

[OOC: For a canary and massive SP, but door and post are open.]

atreideslioness: (Actually?I'm plotting to kill my husband)
Ghanima was in her office after class today, pour over various religious texts. Just because she knew most of them by heart didn't mean that there wasn't something she'd missed earlier.

Any popcorn or giggling that might be going on, well, that was something else altogether. Ghanima had an odd sense of humor.

[OOC: Open door, open office, but I'm going back to bed for a bit. SP is win.]

Anyone passing by Ghanima's office might hear a rhythmic clicking, the dulled 'thud' of chess pieces moving at rapid speeds as she played against the various tau awarenesses in her mind.

She was in her office today, rather than Friday, because she had a vague sense that her mun is on an airplane that day that it would be best to get her lesson written-up sooner rather than later.

Of course, today was still 'sooner', whenever she got around to it. She just needed to beat the Other Memory of Mohiam a few more times, just for fun.

[Open door, open office, and SP is the name of the game. Viva la OCD-Free Revolution!]

atreideslioness: (escape)
After yesterday's interesting conversation with Merlin, Ghanima had gotten all the way home before she realized she left her small emergency case of melange in her office somewhere. And while she had plenty in her suite for her own needs, leaving it out when multiple students had access to her office wasn't a good idea.

Especially when one of those students was a budding apothecary, and might be tempted to poke at the pretty color.

Which was the only reason she was in her office today, opening drawers and looking on bookshelves for the small container. Ghanima was many things, but a workaholic was not one of them, and it was far too beautiful outside to spend the day indoors.

[For the tricksy Jedi, plz.]

atreideslioness: (Dance With Me)
Ghanima's final class had been... interesting. She hadn't actually expected people to climb on the sandworms, let alone jump into it.

The children never ceased to amuse amaze her.

Still, she'd made great progress on her books, and Ghanima now had five tidy copies of the abridged Training Manual finished, written neatly in unassuming bound journals.

For now, however, she was going to take a break from work on the Azhar Book, and do some notations for next semester's class. It was always best to be prepared for one's destiny.

[For that apprentice with the ears, but open before and after him.]

atreideslioness: (Dune Tarot)
Ghanima had a certain amount of prep work that she needed to do for Monday, and for the upcoming break, and since her player was eaten by RL she'd been lazy last week that meant she was in her office today, sorting through piles of very official-looking papers and writing some letters of her own.

This was either the worst idea in the history of House Atreides, or quite possibly the best. Or maybe both.

Either way, it was bound to be interesting, and Ghanima did so love interesting.

[Looking for a glacial witchling and a magician apprentice, but open door and post are open.]

atreideslioness: (quiet moments)
Ghanima normally didn't go back to her office after class, but she did not want to return to her suite quite yet. Somewhere out there was her stepmother, which was not a bad thing, but still a bit disconcerting.

So Ghanima sought refuge in her translation work; working parts of the Training Manual into a shortened companion volume for the Azhar Book. Not everything was needed, but there was still much that applied to her students.

It was also a good reminder to herself; of the Bene Gesserit, and her own disagreements with the order. If word ever got back to the Imperium of what she was doing, the Sisterhood would throw a fit.

...Ghani rather wanted to see that, actually.

[For the magician apprentice, please! That he came by is FB, content of conversation is NFB.]

It was almost a relief to be in her office, away from the boring confines of her suite. As... entertaining... as the events of the previous weekend were, Ghanima had absolutely no desire to make Elaine or Noree part of her future any time soon.

And Alexander? Really? Whatever reality that was could stay a future imperfect and never come to pass.

It was almost soothing to settle in one of the overstuffed chairs of her office, working away on the summer syllabus as she chewed the tip of her quill absently. Academics were far more interesting than strange little children, after all.

[Open office is open, but SP applies!]
